Review + Swatch: Happy Skin Power Pout Moisturizing Lip Lacquer in Royal Treatment

Though I haven't had a lot of reviews in the past I would still want to share my personal thoughts and experiences with the products I've tried. I like reading other people's feedback, as for me, somehow it helps me know what to expect from a product and if it's worth the try.

I'm currently obsessed with lip products. Especially now that I can't experiment too much with face products because of a face regimen that I have to strictly follow. So as not to overspend, I try products one shade at a time. This time I finally got to try Happy Skin. This is my first product from the brand. A lot of beauty enthusiasts have been raving with their lipsticks. When I saw the Moisturizing Lip Lacquer in Royal Treatment, I thought the color is similar to my Mary Kay liquid lip color in Raspberry Ice . Since it's running out and discontinued, I have an excuse to try Happy Skin.

Swatch

Product Rating: 4/5
Price: Php 699 through Zalora

The Good:
- Beautiful color pay-off.
- It's opaque but does not feel heavy, just the right consistency.
- Glossy texture not too overwhelming. It's a hybrid of liquid lipstick and gloss.

The Not-So-Good:
- Doesn't settle on the lips.
- Easily transfers to anything that touches the lips. To retain color, multiple retouch must be done .
- Poor staying power.
- Not the best value for its price.

But, but I love the color! It's a beautiful mauvey plum. If not for that, I would have given it a 3 rating. That's what we call compromise. I would also blot the lips using tissue and apply another coat to make it last just a bit longer.

I would love to try other Happy Skin lippies though.

 Until next time

Renowned for its therapeutic properties, Paw Paw is packed with many major vitamins, minerals and antioxidants such as Vitamins A, C and E. Paw Paw is considered by many natural therapists and traditional healers to have anti-inflammatory properties and is used in wound healing.

Product Rating: 4/5

What I like:
This is a lip balm made mostly out of natural ingredients. No petroleum, mineral oil which is a really great thing given that it is an amazing product. You only get the good sources of moisturizing agents from it. I love the subtle fruity, sweet scent. It's not sticky. Lips feel so soft when I use this especially overnight.

What could be better:
The availability. I got this from Cosmoprof Expo in Hong Kong a year ago. Felt so lucky I got to try these. Some online shops may be selling but I haven't seen one so far. And don't have any idea how much it costs.

What I hate:
There is nothing I don't like about this lip product. Except when it runs out and I don't know where to find one. Any suggestions on where to get this is welcome.

Have you tried this product? How was it? I'd love to know your experience as well.

Thanks for dropping by.

Liposh Sponge from Sasa HK

Found this very familiar sponge in a Sasa store in Hong Kong last year. Though packaging suggests its for the lips, this cutie looks very similar to Etude House and Sonia Kashuk blending sponges.

It's definitely reasonable for HK$ 28 (Php157.00 / USD 4.00) compared to other similar cosmetic sponges I've seen.

For the lips or not, I've been using this to blend cream foundation and concealer and I'm loving it!

PeeK: Make Up Academy Haul

Sometime in January I was tempted to try the online promo of the  UK make-up brand MUA or Make Up Academy. I first knew this brand through the liquid eyeliner I got from Highstreetlady, which I really liked. Who would not dare give in with their 50% off on all items and free shipping? Waiting for 48 days for the items to arrive is still worth it!

So far I am loving the Pro-Brow Ultimate Brow Kit, glamour days eyeshadow palette and highlighting pen. Hopefully will have more time to talk about all the products once I test them out. To check out their products visit MUA Store

Human Nature Goodies with Quick Reviews

Well isn't it exciting to receive a package, mail or something? So I ordered online instead of visiting the Cebu branch of Human <3 Nature.

Moisturizing Day Fluid, Moisturizing Night Cream, Balancing Toner, and Natural Hair Mask

This Night Cream is really good. I love how lightweight it is and smells just right, not too overwhelming, plus its natural!

Sadly this Day Fluid I only have to use when I just stay at home. I have oily combination skin and putting this on prior to BB cream just makes my skin appear worse. I love the smell, consistency is good and its boasts with many vitamins and minerals good for the skin.

This balancing toner is just perfect for my oily skin. It refreshes the face like no other and the orange scent is just so energizing. I love it!

This is a wonderful natural treat for the hair. You can never go wrong with Aloe vera for your beloved crowning glory. The jasmine scent is so heavenly but others may find it too powerful, it can stay on the hair for hours. I had no issues about it though, my hair is smelling fragrant anyways.

Visit the Human Heart Nature website to view more interesting and natural Filipino-made products.

I'm not going to promise but I'm really looking forward to finally post other product reviews that I would like to share. It was hard keeping up last year but it's never too late to continue what I've started.

Take Care!

Maybelline Lip Smooth Color Bloom Lip Balm in Peach Blossom

Bare Lips

With the Lip Balm

The Good: SPF 16, good moisturize retention, nice peach natural-looking shade, no allergies

The Not-So-Good: Needs to exfoliate the lips often, must be some residue from the balm

Overall Rating: 4/5

This is my first Maybelline balm, and it comes in opaque white but gives a subtle shiny color upon application. I adore the shade on the lips, its very natural looking. I think its a really nice peach shade for a lip balm. I got this from Watson's at Php 79.00. Its good but I have my eyes on trying another lipbalm from Maybelline. I'm just happy I'm not allergic to it.

Getting ready for another crazy week to come!

M&Co Cosmetics

It's been awhile since I heard that M&Co (Milk and Co.), a direct selling company of  accessories, apparel, shoes and bags, is also selling makeup products. I then had a chance to take a look at these three products at work. A foundation, eyeshadow quad and blush.

This eye shadow quad in Broze Ambition is all about glitter and shimmer. The colors are neutral and really good. It was hard to handle at first, I hated the fall outs but wet the brush with water and it can make a difference.

This 2-way cake foundation is not my color but look at the packaging, looks fancy and of good quality.

This blush is amazing I should say. It gives a nice glow with enough color payoff on the cheeks. The brush is soft and definitely does the job. It looks good with various skin tones as well.

We are absolutely looking forward to try out more of M & Co's cosmetic collection. Too bad we don't know any dealer yet. I have looked up on the web and found some catalogs, the prices are really affordable so this is definitely a must try.
