Kiwi the Fruit

It was just the shoe polish and the bird that I was familiar with kiwi way back the. Seen it couple of times in supermarkets but never really paid that much attention. Maybe it seemed so similar with the mabolo fruit and I don't think it is edible at all. But the preserved kiwifruit in Shanghai looks so delectable, I had to grab one just to try it out and it was so good.
I want some more of these!
I haven't seen the dried kiwifruit in Cebu Supermarkets but the fresh fruit has been bothering me lately. :D I couldn't resist but to give it a try. Don't let the hairy brown skin fool you, it's got a lot more to offer from the inside to delight our sense of taste and nourish the body.

It was good to know that the kiwifruit got its name from kiwi the flightless brown bird of New Zealand. The fruit that we devoured was imported from New Zealand too, one of its top producers. Kiwi is rich in Vitamin C, it also has potassium, Vitamin E, Vitamin A, flavonoid antioxidants and a high level of dietary fiber among others. Its just the right mild sourness, a little sweet, tangy, juicy and surprises with its crunchy seeds. Thats just me by the way. I grew up to appreciate and eat just about any fruit or vegetable knowing its better for the body than any other snack there is.

Try an interesting fruit or vegetable today!

Peek: Good Day Mocaccino

I've only learned to love coffee a few years ago. I don't know what happened to the awful palpitations I used to experience with just a few sips. Since then that it adds life to my day without the side effects, coffee became an essential part of my mornings.

Sometimes, the usual original taste and aroma just bores the senses so I go for different flavors and it has to be 3 in 1. Good day isn't a new discovery but they don't always have all the variants. Aside from Mocaccino, another favorite is the Carrebian Nut, and it also has the Original, Vanilla Latte, Chococinno, and Coolin' variants.

I noticed that the other brands have been adding artificial sweeteners like Aspartame (APM) aside from sugar. There has been some controversies regarding the long term consumption of this food additive. APM is artificial no question to that, so personally its better to stay away from it while possible. And its good that Good Day doesn't contain artificial sweeteners.

Coffee is a good morning starter but a cup or 2 is all it takes for me to get through the whole day. With all the claims of beneficial effects of coffee, moderation is still and will always be the key.

Enjoy!

L'oreal Paris White Perfect Zooming Spot Corrector

L'oreal Paris Dermo Expertise White Perfect - Zooming Spot Corrector with Ellagic Acid, which is an anti-oxidant that prevents dark spots from forming. Enriched with Ellagic Acid and Melano-Block it helps lighten dark spots by reducing the appearance of melanin. It is recommended to be used daily on morning and evening. It's Dermatologically tested and Tested for Asian Skin.

15 mL Tube
My Personal Take:

Packaging: Easy handling, hygienic applicator tip, dispenses small amount of product

Scent: Lightly fragranced

Features: I find it to be a light formula, lighter than the lotion-types of formula. It easily spreads on application. Unfortunately it did not work that much for me. I've been using it for a month together with the L'oreal White Perfect Whitening Toner, but haven't noticed any improvements on my few scars and overall on my skin. I was desperate for lightening some pimple scars and if there would be tremendous change it will take more than just one tube and more than a month of usage. The lightening may not be that noticeable at all. I eventually gave up using the tube and just used up all the toner.

Availability: Locally available in all leading supermarkets

Value for Money:  ♥♥

Overall Rating:  ♥♥

It was eventually not a good try and its good to know that it won't work for me. But please remember, this may not be always the case. Our skin have different sensitivities and this product may have worked for others.

Thanks for dropping!

Ever Bilena Advance Concealer 20 mL

@everbilena.com.ph

Its been a while since I found and been using Ever Bilena Advance Concealer in Light Vanilla. Just thought of giving it a try even without knowing any feedback or reviews from the product.

My actual tube looks all roughed up. :) Poor thing
Convenient applicator tip gives the enough amount needed

Looks natural after blending

Packaging: Sleek, handy, hygienic tube, doesn't come with a box but no fuss. its meant to be stuffed in a make-up kit anyways :)

Scent: Slightly fragranced but eventually dissappears on application

Features:  Its a creamy liquid that blends so easily. Does not look cakey under powder. Gives a natural finish, does a good job in lightening dark undereye circles and blemishes. It looks natural on me. No breakouts and allergies.

Availability: Comes in 3 shades; light vanilla, soft beige and velvet nude. Its affordable and sold locally in almost all department stores.

Value for Money: ♥♥♥♥♥

Overall Rating:  ♥♥♥♥

I'm not much into concealers but I am loving this one and eventually ditched  the other 2 brands that I have tried. I used to be hesitant trying out with local brands after some failures, which also happens to me with imported cosmetics, But I think this Advance line is quiet the value and quality that is worth the try.

Thanks for dropping!

Keep the Oat Rolling

I've tried to hitch on the "no-rice-policy" wandwagon lately. Instead of cutting rice off instantly, I got some rolled oats as substitute. Australia Harvest Rolled Oats is found in major supermarkets, the only brand I found at the moment but I think good ol Quacker may have it as well.

It's basically different from regular oatmeal, rolled oats are bigger but flat, and needs longer cooking time.

You may want some rolled oats porridge, add water twice as much as the oats.  As for me, since its a rice substitute, I let it simmer longer to let water evaporate but it does not overcook the oats at all. You still get the right consistency and flavor.
Having rolled oats is a great way of getting carbo with that much needed fiber in the diet, plus it has protein and iron. It can go well with fruits and milk for breakfast and even any vegetable or meat dish for lunch. Its definitely a healthier alternative to those who are on a diet or to those who just want to eat healthy.

It was a great weekend!
