foodTrip: Hikay Restaurant Cebu

DS or de-stressing after a week of office (or lab work in my case) is always something we look forward to. Nothing wild, just trying out restaurants within the metro will do just fine. We are not updated with the latest and hippest but there a lot of places that we haven't conquered yet. So this time, we tried Hikay at the Calyx Building in IT Park Cebu.

How to: Long Lasting Red Lips

There was a time not so long ago that I had to wear the red lips for a special occasion, a choir presentation that is. I've been taught that the best lip color to wear during stage performances is red. The newbie in me experimented with these few lip products and I was amazed with the results.

I wore it for a total of 6 hours, 4pm -10 pm with a heavy and oily buffet dinner in between and I came home with these lips. Honestly, no touch ups were done here and I might have slightly used a tablet napkin after eating. I didn't even bother looking in a mirror while I was still at the venue. How I did it? Here are the steps and the products:

Step 1: On clean and newly exfoliated lips, apply red lipliner all over the lips. I used LA Colors Auto Lipliner in 569 (Php 80 at Metro Ayala)

Step 2: Apply red lipstick with a matte formula all over the lips and pat with tissue. I did this step twice using LA Colors Lipstick in Red Tango (Php 80 at Metro Ayala)

Step 3: Apply another red lipstick with a moisturizing formula all over the lips and pat lightly with tissue. Do this once. This is NYX Round Lipstick in Pure Red (Php150 online).

Step 4: Lastly, apply a red lipgloss, here I was using NYX Lipgloss in True Red (Php200 online).

Not bad for just using 4 affordable products right? Honestly this might even be too much but with the pleasing results, its worth it. Looked like I came home ready for another performance. Actually, except for the lips, I wouldn't really dare. :)

Liposh Sponge from Sasa HK

Found this very familiar sponge in a Sasa store in Hong Kong last year. Though packaging suggests its for the lips, this cutie looks very similar to Etude House and Sonia Kashuk blending sponges.

It's definitely reasonable for HK$ 28 (Php157.00 / USD 4.00) compared to other similar cosmetic sponges I've seen.

For the lips or not, I've been using this to blend cream foundation and concealer and I'm loving it!

PeeK: Make Up Academy Haul

Sometime in January I was tempted to try the online promo of the  UK make-up brand MUA or Make Up Academy. I first knew this brand through the liquid eyeliner I got from Highstreetlady, which I really liked. Who would not dare give in with their 50% off on all items and free shipping? Waiting for 48 days for the items to arrive is still worth it!

So far I am loving the Pro-Brow Ultimate Brow Kit, glamour days eyeshadow palette and highlighting pen. Hopefully will have more time to talk about all the products once I test them out. To check out their products visit MUA Store

Rediscovering Berocca

I'm not a fan of taking daily vitamin supplements but rediscovering Berocca has somehow helped in    keeping me up during stressful times.

Rediscovered - in a way, since I've been familiar with the brand before and have seen my parents tried it when I was still younger. Saw it on a drugstore shelf one day and decided to give it a try.

It is an effervescent tablet, just add it into water and you'll not only have a refreshing orange flavored drink but you also get the important vitamins and minerals

It's more likely recommended to add it into cold water, which I also personally prefer. For me, its an enjoyable way to take vitamins rather than drinking the capsules or tablets which I'm not very compliant with.  It is available in all major drugstores I believe. Just read the label first and ask your doctor or pharmacist for any clarifications you want to know before taking this supplement.
